Hutba – Dvije radosti u jednom danu

U njemu smo učili sabur, iskrenost, darežljivost i bogobojaznost.

Ko je učio Kur’an, neka Kur’an ostane njegov svakodnevni saputnik.

Čuvajmo naše porodice, odgajajmo našu djecu u vjeri i čuvajmo naš džemat.

Ova džamija nije samo zgrada. Ona je naša duhovna kuća, naše mjesto okupljanja, naše sidro u moru životnih iskušenja. Ovdje učimo vjeru, jačamo bratstvo i nalazimo snagu da budemo bolji ljudi.

Budimo primjer u zajednici u kojoj živimo. Budimo ambasadori islama svojim ponašanjem, osmijehom, lijepom riječju, poštenjem i povjerenjem. Neka ljudi u nama prepoznaju vrijednosti naše vjere.

Khutbah – Two joys in one day

Dear brothers and sisters, all praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. We thank Him for the countless blessings He has granted us and for allowing us to witness a day in which two great joys come together: the joy of Eid and the joy of Jumu‘ah. We ask Allah to accept our worship, to forgive our shortcomings, and to bless our families and our community. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.s.), his family, his companions, and all those who follow his path until the Day of Judgment.

Today is a day illuminated with a double mercy: the mercy of Eid and the mercy of Friday, the most blessed day of the week. It is a day when believers gather to remember Allah, renew their faith, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.

It is not common for these two great occasions to meet in the same day. When they do, it is a reminder of how generous Allah is with His servants. He gives us moments in our lives that carry extra blessings, moments that invite us to reflect, to be grateful, and to grow closer to Him. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Two celebrations have come together on this day. Whoever wishes may be excused from Jumu‘ah, but we will still gather for it.” (Ibn Mājah)

This hadith reflects the beauty and mercy of Islam. Our religion does not seek to burden people; rather, it brings ease and balance into their lives. Islam recognizes our human nature and provides flexibility when needed.

But at the same time, the Prophet (Pbuh) teaches us something deeper: although the religion allows ease, a believer does not look for excuses; a believer looks for opportunities, opportunities to come closer to Allah, opportunities to strengthen faith, and opportunities to gather as a community.

That is why, even though Eid itself is a day of celebration and joy, we still gather today for Jumu‘ah. Because every moment spent in the remembrance of Allah is an honour and a blessing.

Allah the Almighty says in the Qur’an: “And worship your Lord until certainty (death) comes to you.” (Surah Al-Hijr, 15:99)

Ramadan was our spiritual school. During that blessed month we trained our hearts. We practiced patience, discipline, generosity, and mindfulness of Allah. But now comes the real test: to live what we learned after Ramadan has passed.

Ramadan was never meant to be only thirty days of worship followed by eleven months of forgetfulness. The purpose of Ramadan is transformation.
If you prayed more during Ramadan, continue praying after Ramadan. If you fasted during Ramadan, continue with voluntary fasts, such as Mondays and Thursdays. If you read the Qur’an during Ramadan, let the Qur’an remain part of your daily life. If you gave charity during Ramadan, continue helping others throughout the year.
The true sign that Ramadan was accepted is not the number of nights we prayed or the number of days we fasted, but how much our hearts changed.

There is a beautiful story about perseverance. A young student once asked his teacher, “When will a believer finally be able to rest?” The teacher replied, “When your right foot enters Paradise.”

The believer does not grow tired of doing good, because every prostration, every sincere du‘a, every act of kindness carries weight with Allah.
Friday itself is a special day chosen by Allah. The Qur’an reminds us: “O you who believe! When the call to prayer is made on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave your trade.” (Surah Al-Jumu‘ah, 62:9)

Jumu‘ah is like a weekly Ramadan. It is a weekly opportunity to cleanse the heart, renew our faith, and reconnect with Allah and with one another as a community.
Today we experience a double blessing: the joy of Eid and the spiritual gathering of Friday.

Dear brothers and sisters, on days of celebration we must also remember our responsibilities. Our happiness is complete only when it is accompanied by good character, honesty, and unity.

Take care of your families. Nurture your children with love and faith. Protect the values that Ramadan helped us strengthen. Our mosque is not just a building. It is our spiritual home, our place of guidance, and our anchor in the storms of modern life. Here we learn our faith, build brotherhood, and find strength to live as better Muslims.

Let us also remember that we live in a diverse society. Our actions represent Islam to others. Be ambassadors of Islam in this country through kindness, honesty, fairness, and compassion. Often our character speaks louder than our words.
Dear brothers and sisters, today as Eid and Friday meet, let us remember that every day can become blessed if it is filled with faith and remembrance of Allah. Allah loves consistency, small but continuous good deeds.

So let us not allow the light that Ramadan ignited in our hearts to fade. Let that light continue in our prayers, in our homes, in our families, and in our relationships with others.

Let every Friday remind us that Allah’s door is always open, that His mercy is always near, and that every return to Him is welcomed.

O Allah, keep us steadfast after Ramadan upon Your obedience. Fill our days with Your remembrance, gratitude, and sincere worship. Make us among those who rejoice in obedience and are not deceived by this world. Bless our faith, our deeds, and our community, and protect our families and our societies from harm. Amin.
