Hutba: Pouke i poruke sure El-Insan – Ko smo, zašto smo, i kuda idemo
(El-Insan, 1)
Brate i sestro, zastani i razmisli. Bio je trenutak kada nas nije bilo. Nismo postojali. Niko nas nije spominjao. Nismo imali ime, nismo imali glas, nismo imali ugled, nismo imali ništa.
(El-Insan, 2)
Dakle, nismo stvoreni bez cilja. Svaka sposobnost koju imamo, sluh, vid, razum, nije slučajna.
A vjernik koji je odgojen Kur’anom, on daje i ide dalje. Njegova nagrada nije u očima ljudi. Njegova nagrada je kod Allaha.
I zato Allah kaže: “Allah će ih sačuvati zla toga Dana i darovati im sjaj i radost.” (El-Insan, 11)
I spominji ime Gospodara svoga ujutro i navečer.” (El-Insan, 24-25)
Strpljenje, jer put vjere nije lagahan. I zikr, jer srce bez spominjanja Allaha postaje prazno i slabo.
Braćo i sestre, u vremenu u kojem živimo, čovjek lahko izgubi fokus.
Amin.
Khutbah: Lessons and messages from surah Al-Insan – Who we are, why we are here, and where we are going
All praise is due to Allah, the One who created us from nothing, gave us life, and honored us with guidance. We praise Him for the gift of existence, for the gift of faith, and for every blessing we often overlook. We seek His help and His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Him from the weakness within ourselves and from our shortcomings. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who showed us how to live this life with purpose, sincerity, and awareness of our final return.
Dear brothers and sisters, surah Al-Insan begins with a question that is not meant to be answered quickly, but to be felt deeply: “Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was nothing – (not even) mentioned” (Al-Insan, 1)
Pause and reflect on that. There was a time when you did not exist. You had no name, no voice, no presence, no recognition. Nothing about you was known. And today, you walk the earth, you speak, you plan, you build, you strive and sometimes, you forget.
This opening ayah gently but powerfully breaks our sense of pride. It reminds us of our beginning so that we do not lose sight of our end.
Allah then says: “Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture, in order to try him, and We made him hearing and seeing.” (Al-Insan, 2)
We were not created without purpose. The abilities we have to hear, to see, to think are not random. They are trusts. They are tools through which we are tested. Life is not accidental. Life is a test.
And then Allah makes the path clear: “We have shown him the way: whether he chooses to be grateful or ungrateful.” (Al-Insan, 3)
There is no neutral ground. Every day we are choosing. Every action, every word, every decision is taking us closer to Allah or further away.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Gratitude is not just a word we say, it is a way we live. It is how we use what Allah has given us. It is how we see others, how we speak, how we act when we have, and even when we don’t.
That is why Allah describes a special group of people in this surah, those who passed this test: “They fulfill their vows and fear a Day whose harm will be widespread.” (Al-Insan, 7)
These are people who take their faith seriously. They do not make promises lightly. They do not forget the Day of Judgment. Their awareness of Allah shapes their daily lives.
Then comes one of the most beautiful scenes in the Qur’an, a picture of sincere generosity: “And they give food, despite their own love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, saying: ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We seek from you neither reward nor thanks.’” (Al-Insan, 8-9)
This is the peak of sincerity. They give when it is hard. They give what they themselves love. They give to those who cannot repay them. And they expect nothing in return, not even a thank you.
Dear brothers and sisters,
How difficult is that for us today? How often do we do something good and still hope for recognition? A kind word, a thank you, a bit of appreciation? But the believer shaped by the Qur’an gives and moves on. Their reward is not with people it is with Allah.
And so, Allah says: “So, Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and grant them radiance and joy.” (Al-Insan, 11)
Radiance on their faces. Joy in their hearts. A peace that cannot be purchased in this world.
Later in the surah, Allah describes the beauty of Paradise, its comfort, its honor, its purity. But all of it is the result of one thing: a sincere relationship with Allah SWT.
Dear brothers and sisters, surah Al-Insan teaches us a few essential truths.
First: who we are. We were nothing, and everything we have is a gift. Second: why we are here. To be tested, to show gratitude, and to choose our path. Third: how to succeed. Through sincerity, patience, generosity, and constant awareness of Allah.
Toward the end of the surah, Allah gives us a practical roadmap: “So be patient with the command of your Lord, and do not obey from among them any sinner or ungrateful one. And remember the name of your Lord morning and evening.” (Al-Insan, 24-25)
Be patient, because the path of faith is not always easy. Do not follow the wrong crowd, because the majority is not always right. And remember Allah, because a heart without remembrance becomes weak and lost.
Dear brothers and sisters, in the world we live in, it is easy to get distracted. Life moves quickly. Responsibilities pile up. And the heart slowly drifts. But this surah brings us back. It reminds us: who you are, why you are here, and where you are going.
Do not live on the surface. Do not forget the Day of Judgment. Do not let your good deeds be for people instead of for Allah. Be among those who give sincerely. Who live with awareness. Who long to meet their Lord.
We ask Allah to make us among the grateful, sincere, and those who give for His sake alone. We ask Him to grant us light on our faces and joy in our hearts on the Day of Judgment.
O Allah, forgive our sins, strengthen us upon Your path, and make us among the people of Paradise whom You described in this beautiful surah. Ameen.
