Pouke i poruke iz života Nuha, a.s.

Hvala Allahu, Gospodaru svih svjetova. Njega hvalimo, od Njega pomoć i oprost tražimo, i molimo Ga da nas uputi i učvrsti na Pravome putu. Svjedočim da nema drugog boga osim Allaha, Jedinog, Koji druga nema, i svjedočim da je Muhammed, sallallahu alejhi ve sellem, Njegov rob i poslanik. Neka su salavat i selam na našeg voljenog Poslanika Muhammeda, sallallahu alejhi ve sellem, njegovu porodicu, ashabe i sve one koji slijede njegov put.

Draga braćo i sestre,

Braćo i sestre,

Allah nam u Kur’anu kaže: “I Mi smo poslali Nuha narodu njegovom, i među njima je ostao hiljadu godina manje pedeset godina…” (El-Ankebut, 14)

Draga braćo i sestre,

Druga velika lekcija iz života Nuha, a.s., jeste sabur. Njegov narod nije samo odbijao njegov poziv. Oni su ga ismijavali, vrijeđali i rugali mu se. I pored svega toga, Nuh, a.s., nije uzvraćao mržnjom niti je gubio nadu u Allahovu milost. Allah nam prenosi njegove riječi: “Gospodaru moj, ja sam narod svoj i noću i danju pozivao, ali ih je moje pozivanje samo još više udaljilo.” (Nuh, 5-6)

Danas smo navikli na brza rješenja i trenutne rezultate. Nuh, a.s., nas podsjeća da najveće promjene zahtijevaju vrijeme, trud i sabur. Allah vidi svaki iskren napor, čak i onda kada mi ne vidimo njegove plodove.

Braćo i sestre,

Jedna od najljepših poruka sure Nuh jeste poruka o istigfaru. Nuh, a.s., nije svome narodu ponudio komplikovana rješenja. Pozvao ih je da traže Allahov oprost.
“Tražite oprost od Gospodara svoga, jer On zaista mnogo prašta. On će vam slati kišu obilnu, i pomoći će vas imecima i sinovima, i dat će vam bašče i rijeke.” (Nuh, 10-12)
Koliko puta tražimo složena rješenja za svoje probleme, a zaboravljamo ono što nam Kur’an prvo preporučuje, iskren istigfar. Možda upravo u riječima “Estagfirullah” leži bereket koji nedostaje našim srcima, porodicama i životima.

Draga braćo i sestre,

Braćo i sestre,

Draga braćo i sestre,

Danas je naša lađa spasa Kur’an.

Braćo i sestre,

Lessons and messages from the life of Prophet Nuh peace be upon him

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. We praise Him, seek His help and forgiveness, and ask Him for guidance and protection. I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is His servant and Messenger. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, his family, companions, and all who follow his guidance.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Beginning today, by the will of Allah, we are starting a new series of khutbahs about the Prophets of Allah. Their stories are not preserved in the Qur’an merely to teach us history. Allah tells us about their lives so that we may find guidance for our own. Every Prophet carried a unique message, and every trial they faced contains lessons for those of us living in today’s world.

Today we reflect on the life of Prophet Nuh (Noah), peace be upon him, a Prophet who became the greatest example of perseverance, patience, and complete trust in Allah SWT. His life teaches us how to remain faithful to the truth, even when very few people understand or support us.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Nuh, peace be upon him, was the first Messenger sent to a people who had turned away from Allah’s guidance. They began worshipping idols, following their desires, and forgetting their Creator. Allah sent Nuh to call them back to faith, truth, and sincere worship of Him alone. One of the most remarkable aspects of his mission was its extraordinary length. Allah tells us in the Qur’an: “Indeed, We sent Nuh to his people, and he remained among them for a thousand years minus fifty years…” (Surah Al-’Ankabut, 14)

Just imagine that. Nearly one thousand years of calling people to Allah, advising them, and enduring rejection, yet he never lost hope and never abandoned his mission.

How quickly do we lose patience after only a few days? How many parents become discouraged after only a few conversations with their children? How many people stop doing good because they do not see immediate results?
Nuh, peace be upon him, teaches us that success is not measured by immediate results but by remaining faithful to Allah’s command. Parents cannot force guidance into the hearts of their children. An imam cannot change every heart. No believer can reform the entire world. Our responsibility is to speak the truth, do good, and remain steadfast. Guidance belongs to Allah alone.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Another great lesson from the life of Nuh is patience. His people did not simply reject his message. They mocked him, insulted him, and ridiculed him. Yet he never responded with hatred, nor did he lose hope in Allah’s mercy. Allah tells us that Nuh said: “My Lord, indeed I have called my people night and day, but my calling has only made them flee farther away.” (Surah Nuh, 5-6)

We live in a time when we expect instant results. Prophet Nuh reminds us that meaningful change requires time, effort, and patience. Allah sees every sincere effort, even when we do not yet see its fruits.

Dear brothers and sisters,

One of the most beautiful messages in Surah Nuh is the message of istighfar, seeking Allah’s forgiveness. Nuh did not offer his people complicated solutions. He simply invited them to return to Allah and seek His forgiveness. Allah says: “Seek your Lord’s forgiveness. Indeed, He is ever Most Forgiving. He will send rain upon you in abundance, increase you in wealth and children, and provide for you gardens and rivers.” (Surah Nuh, 10-12)

How often do we search for complicated answers to our problems while forgetting what the Qur’an teaches us first? Perhaps the simple words, “Astaghfirullah,” carry the blessings that our hearts, our families, and our lives are missing.

Dear brothers and sisters,

One of the most painful moments in the life of Nuh came when the flood began, and his own son refused to board the Ark. Allah tells us that Nuh pleaded with him: “O my son, come aboard with us and do not be among the disbelievers.” (Surah Hud, 42)
This is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the Qur’an. It reminds us that parents must do everything possible through good example, education, love, and sincere du’a, but ultimate guidance belongs to Allah alone. Therefore, we must never stop praying for our children, especially in an age filled with unprecedented challenges and temptations.

Dear brothers and sisters,

When Allah commanded Nuh to build the Ark, people laughed at him because they could not understand what he was doing. But Nuh did not follow public opinion, he followed Allah’s command.

The same principle applies to us today. A believer does not measure truth by popular trends but by Allah’s guidance. We also live in a society that often pressures Muslims to compromise or hide their faith. The story of Nuh reminds us that true success is always found in obedience to Allah, even when others fail to understand us.

Dear brothers and sisters,

The Ark of Nuh was not merely a wooden ship that saved a small group of believers from the flood. It is a timeless symbol of salvation. Today, our Ark is the Qur’an. Our Ark is our daily prayer. Our Ark is the masjid and the jama’ah. Our Ark is a family that lives by Islam. Whoever boards this Ark will find security, even in the greatest storms of life.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today we leave with five powerful lessons from the life of Prophet Nuh: remain steadfast in doing good, be patient during hardship, seek Allah’s forgiveness frequently, never give up on your children, and remain firm upon your faith regardless of the pressures around you.

We ask Allah, the Most High, to grant us patience like the patience of Prophet Nuh, to strengthen our faith, protect our families and our youth, fill our mosques with sincere believers, and make us among those who board the Ark of salvation in this life and attain eternal salvation in the Hereafter. Allahumma ameen.
