To nisu obični dani.

(Buhari)

Zastanimo i razmislimo o ovoj poruci. Nema dana. Nema boljeg vremena.

Prije svega, namaz. Čuvajmo naše farzove kao najveću obavezu. Ne odgađajmo ih i ne klanjajmo ih nemarno. Povećajmo nafile, produžimo sedždu i produžimo dovu.
Zatim post. Posebno deveti dan, Dan Arefata. Poslanik, sallallahu alejhi ve sellem, je rekao da post tog dana briše grijehe prošle i naredne godine. Zamislite milosti, jedan dan, a briše dvije godine.

Zatim zikr. Učimo što više: “Allahu ekber, Allahu ekber, la ilahe illallah, Allahu ekber, Allahu ekber ve lillahil-hamd.” Neka naši jezici ožive. Neka naše srce osjeti blizinu Allaha, dželle šanuhu.

Zatim sadaka.

Zatim Kur’an.

Braćo i sestre, prava vjera traži žrtvu.

Draga braćo i sestre, ovi dani brzo prolaze.

Amin.

Khutbah: The first ten days of Dhul-hijjah – days that shape our akhirah

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all worlds, who in His wisdom chooses certain times and elevates them above others, so that His servants may be reminded, awakened, and drawn closer to Him. We praise Him for granting us opportunities where small actions bring immense reward, and for opening doors of mercy before the Day when those doors will close.

Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who taught us to value time, to recognize opportunities, and to live with purpose, upon his family, his companions, and all those who use these blessed days to draw nearer to Allah.

Dear brothers and sisters, we are approaching one of the greatest periods of the entire year, the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. These are not ordinary days. They are days specially chosen by Allah, days in which mercy descends, deeds are multiplied, and hearts are meant to awaken. Allah swears by these days in the Qur’an:
“By the dawn, and by the ten nights.” (Surah Al-Fajr, 89:1-2)

When Allah swears by something, it carries great significance. Many scholars explained that these “ten nights” refer to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. It is as if Allah is calling us: do not overlook these days.

The Prophet (pbuh) said: ‏“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days,” meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul- Hijjah. (Bukhari)

Pause and reflect on this. There are no better days. No greater opportunity. Even the days of Ramadan, aside from the last ten nights, do not carry this same distinction in terms of days. That means every act of worship in these days carries extra weight.

The companions asked:‏ “Not even jihad in the path of Allah?” The Prophet (SAW) replied: “Not even jihad, except for a person who goes out with his life and wealth and does not return with anything.”

These are days that can transform us. Days that can erase sins. Days that can elevate our rank with Allah SWT.

Dear brothers and sisters, the question is not whether these days are valuable, the question is whether we will take advantage of them.
How many times have such days passed, and we treated them like any other? How many opportunities have we missed to do more, to be better, to return to Allah?
These days are a call, a call to wake up from heedlessness, to renew our iman, and to repair our relationship with Allah.

So, what should we do in these days?

First, guard your prayers. Do not delay them, and do not rush them. Strengthen your connection with Allah through your salah. Increase your voluntary prayers. Lengthen your sujood. Make sincere du‘a.

Then fasting, especially the ninth day, the Day of ‘Arafah. The Prophet (pbuh) said that fasting this day expiates the sins of the previous and the coming year. One day, two years forgiven. This is the generosity of Allah SWT.

Then dhikr. Fill your tongue with remembrance: “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil-hamd.”
Let your tongue be alive. Let your heart be present.

Then charity. Give from what you have. It is not about how much it is about sincerity. A small act in these days may carry immense reward.

Then the Qur’an. Return to the Book of Allah. Not only reciting but reflecting. Asking yourself: what is Allah asking of me?

Dear brothers and sisters, these days are deeply connected to Hajj. While millions of believers stand on the plains of ‘Arafah, raising their hands and asking Allah for forgiveness, we who are not there should not be distant in heart. We can be connected through du‘a, fasting, and remembrance. We can live these days as if we are part of that great gathering.

These days also remind us of Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, his willingness to sacrifice what he loved most for the sake of Allah. This is not just a story it is a lesson.

True faith requires sacrifice. Perhaps we will not be tested like Ibrahim, but each of us has something we must give up for the sake of Allah. Maybe it is a sin we need to leave. Maybe it is a habit we need to break. Maybe it is an injustice we must correct. Maybe it is time we must dedicate to Allah instead of the dunya.

So, ask yourself: what will I sacrifice in these days for Allah?

Dear brothers and sisters, these days will pass quickly. They will not return. They are a once-a-year opportunity. If we miss them, we do not know if we will live to see them again. The wise person is the one who takes advantage of opportunities before they are gone.

We ask Allah, Jalla Jalaluhu, to make us among those who recognize the value of these days, who take full advantage of them, and who draw closer to Him through them.

O Allah, accept our deeds, forgive our sins, purify our hearts, and make us better at the end of these days than we were at the beginning.

O Allah, allow us to spend these days in worship, in remembrance, and in goodness, and let us reach Eid with forgiven sins and hearts at peace. Ameen.
