Institute for Research of Genocide, Canada has issued the following statement regarding the shooting incidents that occurred at the National War Memorial and Parliament Hill in Ottawa:
Institute for Research of Genocide, Canada stands united with Canadians in categorically condemning shooting attacks at Ottawa’s War Memorial and on Parliament Hill which left a Canadian soldier dead and several others injured. All Canadians are horrified and shocked by these repulsive attacks in Ottawa and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. This senseless, horrifying attack has shaken all Canadian Bosniaks. We stand together, strengthened in our resolve to uphold the values of peace and democracy upon which Canada was founded. May all those affected by this tragedy know that Canadian Bosniaks are united in wishing them peace at this time. We stand firm with fellow Canadians in upholding and protecting the safety and security of our country.
